Review the winners of previous competitions. The drawings of state winners can be used as examples of concepts. Because originality is a big factor in judging, we do not advise your students to copy the idea you show them.
In selecting the twelve state winners, judges attempt to reach a balanced representation of the regional competitions as well as grade levels. Two drawings from each concept are chosen, in determining the twelve state winners.
