Teach Children to Save Day
Teach Children to Save Day (TCSD) is a national event developed by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation. With the cooperation of its affiliated Centers at Governors State University and Dominican University, the Illinois Council on Economic Education offered the program to schools in their service areas for the first time in the spring of 2007.
Volunteers from the banking community were matched with classrooms to deliver personal finance lessons based on children’s literature. Students became engaged in stories and activities that teach basic concepts about the wise use of their financial resources.
Teach Children to Save Day will be offered again in April 2008. There is no charge for teachers or students to participate in Teach Children to Save Day; however, classroom visits may be limited.
