Teach Chicago Children to Save - Thank You, 2010!

Daniel Goelz, Capri Capital Partners LLC, in a second grade class at Healy Elementary SchoolThank you to the many volunteers who gave their time to 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms during the spring 2010 semester.   Teach Chicago Children to Save is a program designed to help Chicago children learn about the importance of saving.  Funding for the program was provided by Bank of America and is based on “Teach Children to Save Day”, originally developed by the American Bankers Association.  Using a children’s book with a savings theme, volunteers visited a classroom, read the book to the students, and engaged the class in a hands-on activity.  After the 45-minute session, the book, lesson and supporting materials were left with the teacher to further integrate the saving concepts.

The 2010 Teach Chicago Children to Save program was made possible by sponsorship from Bank of America to Econ Illinois. Read about Bank of America's recent sponsorship of programs for Illinois teachers.
