Econ Illinois, formerly known as the Illinois Council on Economic Education, was founded in 1951 to help K-12 schools integrate the teaching of economics and personal finance across the curriculum at all grade levels.
K-12 Teaching Economics & Financial Literacy Conference
Our annual conference took place last Friday, January 23, with the greatest number of teachers yet. Weather was good resulting in 107 attendees from K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12! The event can accommodate up to 110 educators. To find out more about the conference, visit the conference page.
Pathways for Finance-related Careers
Econ Illinois has been selected as the Lead Entity for the Finance Learning Exchange (FLE) for the state of Illinois. STEM Learning Exchanges are public-private partnerships creating more real-world experiences for students, enhancing college and career readiness.
