InvestWrite Spring 2010
Nearly 3,000 student essays were judged by national judges for the spring 2010 competition. Teachers judged nearly 10,000 essays at the classroom level, submitting up to 6 essays per class for national judging.
Of those essays submitted for national judging, 40% were from high school students; 39% were from 6-8th grade and 21% were from 4-5 grade classrooms.
Over 1,000 professionals from the business and education community volunteered to judge the anonymous entries.

National Winner
Receiving third place nationally in the grades 4-5 division of the spring 2010 InvestWrite competition is Hannah Hooven, 5th grader at Oliver Julian Kendall Elementary School, Indian Prairie School District 204, Naperville. Hannah's teacher is Jenny Horsey, Gifted Resource Teacher - Project Arrow.
A classroom celebration was held at the school on May 21. Hannah was presented with a mini notebook computer. Ms Horsey received a $100 gift card and a one-year subscription to the Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition for her 2010-2011 class.
The school received a trophy for permanent display as a remembrance of Hannah's win. Mr. and Mrs. Hooven received a plaque thanking them for their support of Hannah's learning.
The class in which Hannah participated in the SMG and InvestWrite was treated to a Pizza Party following the awards presentations.
