The Stock Market Game

Special Pull-out Competitions

Illinois Capitol Challenge

Illinois Capitol Challenge (ICC) is offered every fall, matching state legislators and others to schools participating in The Stock Market Game program. Students compete in their usual SMG region, for prizes and recognition - and also compete with other ICC teams in a separate pull-out of the SMG. The winning team receives a trip to Springfield to visit with their sponsoring legislator while in session. Second and third place teams receive an in-school visit and award presentation from their sponsoring legislator. This program is completely funded by a grant from CITI Foundation. Cabrera Statewide Award

The Cabrera Statewide Award is given to the top elementary and high school teams from the fall and spring ten- to fifteen-week sessions. Funding for this award is provided by Cabrera Capital Markets, LLC. View the results of the 2009 competition and find out who won the trips to New York City and Chicago!

DeKalb County Challenge

This special pull-out of The Stock Market Game program was initiated by Econ Illinois - Illinois Council on Economic Education in 2007 to increase exposure of Econ Illinois programs in the home base of the Northern Illinois University community; to provide visibility to the excellence of area teachers and schools; to provide learning opportunities for area students and to facilitate a school/business connection. Lead sponsorship for this program is from Edward Jones Investments, with support from Castle Bank. View the flyer for the 2009 competition. Click HERE for the results of the 2009 competition!
