Winners, Spring 2008
Statewide, over 19,000 students participated in the Spring 2008 sessions. The online portfolio simulation for student teams extended from February 4 - April 25 for schools in the City of Chicago; January 14 - April 25 for schools elsewhere. The Enrichment Session, for any Illinois school, extended March 17 - May 23. Students begin portfolio management when it best fit the teacher's schedule, within the timeframe of their session. The Year-Long session that began September 4 concluded April 25.

Winning Teams
- Cabrera Statewide Award Winners (The top teams from the fall and spring sessions - this competition did not include the Year-Long session)
The elementary Cabrera Statewide Award team was hosted in Chicago May 27-28, with an overnight at the Union League Club of Chicago. Sara Wraight and her students Malcolm B, Diamonte B, Adina H and Lee M visited with Martin Cabrera and his staff in their offices at 20 S LaSalle Street. With a tour guide at the Chicago Board of Trade, they viewed the frantic close of the grain markets, watched the educational video of the CME Group, and viewed the pit trading on the financial floor. They also visited with Bill Testa, Vice President and Director of Regional Programs of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and took a guided tour of the Fed's Money Center where they saw one million dollars packaged three different ways! The trip was capped off by dinner at Bubba Gump's restaurant and fun at Navy Pier.
For the high school Cabrera Statewide Award, two high schools will be recognized with a three-day trip to New York City June 2 - 4. Rich East H S and West Chicago H S teachers David Stefanski and Donald Zabelin will tour the New York Stock Exchange and have lunch there with Martin Cabrera. They will also visit the Museum of American Finance, enjoy dinner at Carmine's on W 44th St and see Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The trip will be capped off by ample sightseeing. Attending the trip from Rich East is student Johnny C; from West Chicago are students Rogelio D, Max G and Maribel R.
