Ameren Illinois believes that by helping to improve lives, they help to improve the quality of the communities they serve.  With support from Ameren Illinois, Econ Illinois has been able to provide resources to the teachers in the Peoria County communities.  Teachers in those communities have given their students the opportunity to learn from and compete in The Stock Market Game program and the Illinois Economics Poster Contest program.  Teachers have also taken advantage of various Econ Illinois professional development opportunities.

Through Ameren Illinois’ support of the poster contest, students from such schools as the Washington Gifted School and Sterling Middle School are learning about goods and services, productive resources and opportunity costs.  Some students are also receiving recognition for their work through the Economics Poster Contest calendar. See the winning drawings from the 2010 contest, which are depicted in the 2011 calendar. Request a calendar by sending an email to Econ Illinois.

Econ Illinois is grateful to Ameren Illinois for their 35 years of support as well as our many donors, both old and new, who are improving the lives of our youth through economic and financial education.
