Ways to Contribute

Established in 1951, the Illinois Council on Economic Education is the oldest continuously active state council in the National Council on Economic Education network. ICEE accomplishes its mission of economic literacy through the generosity of donors. Your donation will help ICEE continue its mission to support all children in benefiting fully from and contribute meaningfully to the economic system in which they live.

General Donation

General donations can be made by mailing a check or cash to: Illinois Council on Economic Education, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb IL 60115. Donations can also be made with a credit card by phoning ICEE at (815) 753-4639. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Donors will receive a letter of acknowledgement for tax purposes.

In-Kind Donation

Please contact ICEE for in-kind donations. Arrangements will quickly be made for pick-up or drop-off accommodations. Only donations in good condition can be accepted. For a listing of office needs, please refer to the ICEE Wish List.

Memorial or Tribute Donation

A Memorial provides a sentimental way to remember and honor a loved one. A Tribute provides a meaningful way to honor a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday. Memorial or Tribute contributions will be acknowledged with a note sent to the recipient or recipient's family.

Appreciated Assets

Examples of Appreciated Assets include stocks or real estate. You can deduct the fair market value of your donated asset and pay no capital gains tax on the increased value.

Planned Giving

Planned Gifts allow you to combine your philanthropic goals with your financial needs while supporting ICEE. Through a planned gift, you can realize significant income and tax-saving benefits while helping ICEE in our mission to help all children in Illinois become effective participants in the economy, enabling them to benefit themselves and society throughout their lifetimes. Matching Gifts

Many companies offer Matching Gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift! Please check with your company to see if a matching gift program is available.

Some companies may only match a gift if it is given to Northern Illinois University. In this case, simply make your donation to the NIU Foundation and designate your gift "For ICEE". Include the designation on the matching gift form, as well.
